Blackpool’s Pleasure Beach Resort has opened its doors to its newest family show, an ice-skating extravaganza reimagining a classic tale – and it doesn’t need to cost visitors a penny extra to watch.

Alice: Frozen in a Wonderland of Dreams is Pleasure Beach’s newest production, bringing Lewis Carroll’s Wonderland to the ice, creating a performance packed with athleticism, special effects and stunning costumes, all created in-house.

The 50-minute show caters to all ages and will run inside Pleasure Beach’s Arena each afternoon until September 10 (Sundays excluded).

A cast of 30 skaters from across the globe, with Olympic and World Championship pedigree, are set to venture down the rabbit hole and bring the story to life in a showcase of daring tricks and magical storytelling.

The world-class cast includes the likes of: Sofia Pucherova as Alice, former Canadian Olympian and Cirque du Soleil performer Shawn Sawyer as the Mad Hatter, Japanese national competitor Reo Ishizuka as the White Rabbit, and the storytellers Lilian Binzari and Blackpool-born Nadia Craggs.

And it’s not just edge of your seat action on offer - all tickets for Alice: Frozen in a Wonderland of Dreams, include a Flex Pass, allowing spectators to enjoy non-rider entry to Pleasure Beach.

In addition, anyone visiting Pleasure Beach is also granted free entry to the show alongside their park eTickets on the day of their visit.

The show continues Alice in Wonderland’s prominence within Pleasure Beach’s history, with a ride of the same name having operated in the park since 1962.

The ride is said to have been given a personal blessing by Walt Disney himself, after his friend and then Pleasure Beach owner Leonard Thompson visited Disneyland during the 1950s. There is even evidence to suggest that Disney’s own Alice in Wonderland ride was used as the blueprint for the one found in the Pleasure Beach today.

Speaking on Alice in Wonderland’s importance to the park, Amanda said: “We’re adding the most spectacular chapter to what is already a wonderful story. More than just a spectacle, it’s a nod to our heritage, delivered with the same modern flair that has kept skating thriving here for 90 years.”

2026 marks nine decades of ice shows at Pleasure Beach, and the park is celebrating with two new productions. Alice: Frozen in a Wonderland of Dreams, joins Hot Ice XC in this summer's line-up of entertainment in the Arena – the world's oldest purpose-built ice theatre.
