The annual Cumbria Tourism Awards took place this week at Castle Green Hotel in Kendal. The black-tie evening brought together finalists, sponsors and industry guests for one of the biggest nights in Cumbria's hospitality calendar, celebrating the businesses setting the standard for the region's reputation for quality, creativity and service.

On the night, the team from North Cumbria's Pentonbridge Inn collected the Taste of Cumbria Fine Dining Award. They will now represent the county at the Visit England Awards 2027, going up against Fine Dining establishments from across the English regions for the Taste of England Award.

A total of 18 awards were presented on the night, including B&B and Guest House of the Year, Large Visitor Attraction of the Year, New Tourism Business Award, Pub of the Year, Makers and Producers Award, Wedding Venue of the Year, Taste of Cumbria Casual Dining Award, and The Sheila Hensman Unsung Hero Award.

Kim Capstick, Director of Operations for Pentonbridge Inn and Netherby Hall, said: ‘’I'm incredibly proud of the team; it's an honour to represent them tonight and collect this award on their behalf. They couldn't be here themselves; they were busy doing exactly what earned them this nomination, delivering quality service and exceptional food to every single guest. This recognition belongs to them: to Chris, Ross and everyone whose hard work and dedication made it possible. I couldn't be happier for them.’’

Not to be outdone, Pentonbridge Inn's sister business, Netherby Hall, also collected the prestigious Regenerative Tourism Award, and will likewise represent the county at the Visit England Awards 2027.
