Blackpool is set to host its first-ever Illumination Switch-On Watch Party on Friday 4 September, giving hundreds more people the chance to be part of the biggest night in the resort’s calendar.

While 20,000 tickets have been allocated through a ballot for the main Switch-On arena on the Tower Festival Headland, those who missed out on tickets can now experience the full concert and Switch-On moment live on the big screen in the world-famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

For the first time in the event's history, a dedicated Watch Party will be staged inside the iconic ballroom, allowing residents and visitors to watch all the action unfold live from the arena before witnessing the moment Blackpool's famous Illuminations burst into life.

The 2026 Switch-On concert will feature performances from singer-songwriter Lucy Spraggan, rock quintet The Feeling and a headline set by iconic British pop group Five.

BBC Radio 2’s Paddy McGuinness will take to the stage shortly after 9pm to switch on this year’s Illuminations.

The free Watch Party offers an alternative for people who weren't successful in the ballot but still want to enjoy the atmosphere of Switch-On night in the heart of the resort.

Kate Shane MBE, Managing Director of Blackpool Tourism Limited, said: "The Illuminations Switch-On is one of the biggest nights in Blackpool's calendar, and demand for tickets is always incredibly high.

"It promises to be a fantastic night, and we want as many people as possible to come to Blackpool and enjoy the show. We are delighted to launch our first-ever Watch Party, giving hundreds more people the chance to experience the concert."

Tickets are free of charge and available on a first-come, first-served basis at www.visitblackpool.com/switchon
